Aalok Shah Promoted as Head of Global Advisory, India, at Rothschild & Co
Rothschild & Co announced on Wednesday that Aalok Shah has been promoted to Head of Global Advisory, including investment banking in India.
Shah will succeed Chandresh Ruparel, who currently serves as MD and Head of India at Rothschild. Shah joined Rothschild & Co in 2006 and has worked extensively in London and Mumbai. In 2024, he was appointed Co-Head of India.

In his new role, Aalok will leverage his strong client relationships, strategic vision, and long-term commitment to the firm. He will lead the next phase of growth for Rothschild & Co’s advisory business in India.
After 22 years of leading Rothschild & Co’s India business, Chandresh Ruparel will transition to Senior Adviser for one year.
In this new role, Chandresh will provide strategic counsel, mentor senior bankers, and maintain key client relationships, especially on the corporate side.
Rothschild & Co has expanded its service offerings in India to include ECM advisory services.
