Approximately 200 cards are decorated and mailed annually by personnel at the state's Infant Botulism Treatment and Prevention Program to commemorate the recovery of children impacted by the uncommon and hazardous illness.

In September, months after her son Hank was hospitalized for 12 days due to botulism after consuming ByHeart formula, Amy Mazziotti of Burbank, California, got a birthday card for her kid. "It is very special that they take the time to send each baby hand-drawn cards," Mazziotti remarked. "It's the little things like this that feel so big when you're worried about your baby." Robin Hinks, a program assistant, is in charge of organizing the cards and is responsible for their decoration, tracking, and sending.
